This role ensures the Windows Consumer Category Planning Team is following key Rhythm of Business processes and calendars to hit key deliverables and milestones. The Windows Consumer Category Planning Team is responsible for developing worldwide Sales, Marketing and Channel plans: identifying key consumer segments for compete and growth opportunities. Leading the seasonal category planning across all categories to ensure we deliver growth across all consumer products, devices and services helping Microsoft and its partners grow revenue, profits and share.
Deliverables
18 month planning calendar management
Driving 18 month planning calendar with Planning team and core stakeholders to ensure team is planning 6+ months ahead and getting ready for future motions.
Working 1:1 with each planning team member to build their workstreams and ensure visibility across teams
Ensuring CSO org wide seasonal planning calendar is on track and adhered to/part of planning team motions
Cross Org Collaboration
Managing alignment calendars and processes with Surface, M365, Product Marketing, Channel Sales, Device Partner Sales on key rhythms and calendars to ensure alignment
Silicon partnerships support
Support Silicon lead in Silicon partner planning rhythms including key meeting support and execution
Team support
Drive planning team meeting agendas, morale moments
Support individual team members as bandwidth allows/as needed
Typical Day in the Role
• Purpose of the Team: The purpose of the Windows customer category planning team is to build all retails sales strategy for Windows globally
• Key projects: This role will contribute to key rhythm of business processes and calendars to hit key deliverables and milestones
• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of the following,
50% meetings
50% building framework, plans, following up with team on deliverables – meeting org wide calendar
Candidate Requirements
• Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role.
• Disqualifiers: Candidates without required skills will not be eligible for the role.
• Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain intel, web md, any consumer electronics space experience
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines, quality of communication, quality of deliverables, and proactivity
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
1. Minimum 5-7 years experience with managing calendars
2. Minimum 5-7 years experience with proficient in all MSFT suite; Excel, Word, Powerpoint ect.
3. Minimum 5-7 years experience with Product Marketing, Channel and Device Partner Sales
The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $68 to $70 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
