      Our well known retail client’s Physical Retail team is seeking a Visual Content Assistant (Writer) to support the Visual Communications Department for a 6 month+, 40 hours per week contractor role. The Visual Content Assistant will work across the Visual Team and with cross-functional partners (e.g., Merchandising, Store Operations, Technology) to gather and write content for visual direction.

      This is a primarily onsite role based out of our client’s Norton, MA design lab but that also requires frequent travel to another design lab in Taunton, MA.

      A typical week in this role will include working onsite 4 days and WFH on Fridays.

      Our client would love to see someone with a retail store background plus some professional writing experience in this role.  Someone with a training background or instore content writing experience could be a very good fit as well.

      What You’ll Do:

      • Write visual communication for all of our clients retail brands regardless of format.
      • Types include, but are not limited to SOP’s, training materials, seasonal floorset documents, weekly communication updates, and training videos.
      • Topics include visual merchandising, presentation standards, printed & digital signage, Visual tech, props, store design and promotions.
      • Gather all relevant information from cross-functional teams in order to write cohesive communication.
      • Maintain the “visual voice” for every brand to ensure a consistent associate experience.
      • In partnership with the Visual Production team, support each type of visual communication to ensure that direction is easy to understand, efficient to execute and fun to read for the associate.
      • Partner with Visual Presentation team on overall seasonal merchandising vision to ensure content adheres to strategies aligned to at the Retail Lab.
      • Ensure that all visuals (photos, illustrations, planograms, video) support visual content.
      • Support photography needs for floorset and training documents, including posing in photos and/or videos to illustrate how to perform specific merchandising tasks and taking photos.
      • Support with production layout/designs in Google Slides, InDesign or Google Sites as needed.
      • Meet all communication deadlines, ensuring everything is reviewed and submitted properly to stores.
      • Attend new store openings as needed to support store setup and training sessions. This may require regional travel.

      What You’ll Need:

      • Physical retail, in-store experience preferred.
      • General understanding of Visual Merchandising and store’s needs.
      • 1+ years of content writing experience, preferably in a retail-related field.
      • Writing/communication examples required.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Demonstrated ability to multitask while keeping organized
      • Ability to travel to different working locations as needed (local and regional travel)
      • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Google Workspace/Microsoft Office
      • Able to collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams to achieve objectives
      • Adaptability to organizational changes and complex structures

      The target hiring compensation range for this role is $30.00 to $33.13 hourly. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
